As a fat trans dyke who grew up in the realm of evangelicals, I embrace materials through excavation of memory, fluidity of time, and queer identity. My installations and sculptures use ceramics, performance and charged domestic ephemera to create new environments that ask the audience to bear witness, to come closer, to touch, sometimes to hold. Through a slow cooking process, I alchemize and fabricate objects which create hybrid sculptural interventions. I collect and mash together a variety of materials, which allows for the fluidity of these mediums to speak. This cauldron of materials reveals the decadence in accumulation and repetition. Through my research in the studio, I push to disturb the sediment of archaic legacies while using care as a medium; as a reverberation of resistance.
